BeeThere Privacy Guarantee

At BeeThere, we know that your privacy is important to you. It's important to us, too. BeeThere is very serious about protecting your privacy. We have developed this policy, and internal processes to make sure that your privacy is protected. This policy has these main points:

• We do not, and will not share any information which can be traced to a particular user, such as email addresses. We hate spam as much as you do.
• Aggregated information about listening habits, such as related artist information, may be used for the benefit of all BeeThere users.
• We reserve the right to sell or license aggregated listening data, however, we will never sell your personal data.
• All financial records are processed by a trusted third-party, leaving no financial information on our servers, including name, billing address and phone number.

What information about customers does BeeThere gather?

The information we learn from customers helps us personalize and continually improve your experience at BeeThere. The BeeThere team are all music fans as you are, and we know that music taste is a very personal, subjective matter.

• We use that information to service your account and to personalize your experience at BeeThere.

• When you register at the site, we ask for certain basic information to service your account: name and e-mail address, and zip code.
• You have the option to use certain services, such as the "Send this page to a friend" function, which may require you to provide us with transmittal information for your friends or family. We only use this information to provide the requested service.
• You have the option within the site, to provide us with information about your music preferences or other interests. We use this information to improve the level of customization in the store and provide better recommendations for you.
• If you enter an BeeThere sweepstakes, we will ask for your name and email address, so that we may notify winners. You do not have to be an account holder to enter an BeeThere sweepstakes. We may also use your email address to send you special offer emails in the future.
• We also keep track of customer purchases, traffic patterns and related site usage inside our website to help us shape our recommendations about merchandise in the store, manage promotions and advertising, and improve our web page and site design.
• From time to time, we may randomly contact customers about participating in a survey about our website. These surveys are optional, and we use the responses to help us identify customer concerns and needs so that we can improve or develop new services on the website.

Credit Card Safety

BeeThere uses a thoroughly trusted third-party, PayPal, for all credit-card transactions. PayPal is the most widely used third-party on the internet. BeeThere does not ever store, or even see your credit card information. Being logged in to BeeThere does not authorize any new financial transaction. Any financial transaction requires a new session, separate from the BeeThere site. Please see PayPal for more details.

Aggregate Statistics.

• From time to time we provide aggregate statistics about our members, site traffic, sales and other site-related information to reputable companies. "Aggregate" is the key word here. You can be assured that we never include information that allows these companies to identify you individually. 

E-Mail Addresses.

• We never rent or sell your name and e-mail address to other on-line marketers of products or services without your consent. You make the decisions on how you would like to hear from us and if you are interested in receiving valuable offers from other reputable marketers of products and services. In addition, all promotional email that you receive from BeeThere will always allow you to unsubscribe to future email promotions if you decide to do so at a later date.

Postal Mailing Lists.

• We do not ever store or even see your real address unless it is explicitly sent to us. We do not collect this type of personal information.

External Sites

• BeeThere may place advertisements or other promotional offers from select companies on our website or in our emails. When you choose to participate in these promotional offers, you may link to these businesses' websites and be asked to give them personal information. These businesses operate independently from BeeThere. Any personal information that is given to them is at your option and is no longer controlled by our privacy policy. To avoid confusion, we will identify these businesses as independent from BeeThere, if the information entry point is inside of the BeeThere website. We encourage you to read these businesses' privacy policies, if you should have any concerns about how they will care for your personal information.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

• BeeThere is a website directed to the general public. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. We aim to keep the site at least PG-13. However, most of the content is contributed by users. We do pay attention to the content ourselves, and have made editorial removals, there may be content that makes it through for some period of time. Also note that amongst the user-contributed information are links to many external websites. BeeThere does not endorse or take responsibility for the content of these sites. Parents please be advised.

Consent.

• By using BeeThere and providing us with personal information, you are accepting the privacy practices described in this policy statement.
• We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Please check back here occasionally. You will always find the latest version posted here. Updates to our Privacy Policy that would affect how we treat your personal information will not apply to information collected before we made the update, unless we first obtain your consent.
• Please note that because a customer information database is customarily considered a business asset, BeeThere shall have the right to transfer it in a merger or sale of some or all of its company or in an action for bankruptcy. Your information will continue to be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy by the acquiring or merged company unless you are notified and provided an opportunity to opt of any changes.
